Fantasy Baseball Update

Posted by Brian Michael, Wed, March 25, 2009 10:32 PM

Everyone who has signed up to play in this year’s fantasy baseball league has been sent an invite.  Please check your inbox and register your team as soon as possible so we can finalize the divisions (which are named after Philly neighborhoods).  If you haven’t received your invite or would still like to sign up, send us an email and we’ll sort you out.  Drafts are scheduled for Monday at 7:30pm.

Here are the divisions (the links only work if you have been invited to that division):

Olney, Germantown, Nicetown, Port Richmond, Grays Ferry, Brewerytown, Bustleton, Center City, Roxborough, Chalfont, Fairmount, Mayfair, Fishtown, Manayunk, Kensington

  1. Jim Says:

you have completley disregarded west philly!

  2. sean Says:

Is there an overall winner? I know that there will be winners in each division, but anymore than that?

  3. Phil Says:

south philly and west philly are lacking reps. i cant draft monday at 730. i can around 815…

  4. Matt Says:

everyone in kensington: get ready to battle for 2nd place. UncleCholly is gonna dominate this.

  5. metsblow4show Says:

    Chalfont isn’t even in Philly.

  6. Rick Bates Says:

This should be splendid. Two Burrels One Cup baby!

  7. Phil Says:

haha yes! Someone’s name in my league is Daulton’s spaceship!!!!! Genius. Once again, if you are in the Olney league can we draft at 8:15? I have class till 7:20 and won’t get home till 8:15.

  8. Rob Cowie Says:

chalfont is a hood in philly. brian michael is the king of chalfont.

  9. bull Says:

I had an invite but cant draft that night. Can my team automatically draft?

  10. Matt Says:

    bull,

yeah, just rank your players before the draft and it will autodraft them for you if you’re not able to.

  11. Jason B. Says:

Is anyone in Brewerytown able to draft around 9-930 on Monday? If not I’ll set up auto draft, but if youz could delay a little it would be appreciated. I have a Mid term for class, otherwise I would totally blow off class.

  12. Fran Says:

I’m Dim the Lights Durbin in the Germantown league. Anyone else in there?

  13. Jason B. Says:

Dim the lights Durbin is an awesome name…. but no, I’m in Brewery town. By the way, what happens if not enough people join the individual divisions? Will we be nvited to ther leagues to fill up the leagues? just asking.

  14. Brian Michael Says:

All the leagues will have at least 8 teams and it is unlikely we’ll change any draft times unless a majority of people in the division want it changed. We can’t just change it for 1 or 2 people because then it will become a conflict for someone else. Sorry you’ll just need to rock the autodraft.

  15. Ryan Says:

I am in the Mayfair division…And yes Chalfont is in Northeast Philly..I’m a Parkwood NE Philly Native that currently lives in a dorm at La Salle University(Olney) haha…Anyone else here in my division?

  16. Richie Says:

This is an absolute travesty Tim, how can all of our sports teams reside in South Philly, and myself of course and we do not get a division name??? What is going on dude?? I demand a redo!!

  17. CT Says:

I’m in the Nicetown league… my team is Utley’s Puppy Mill :-D

  18. Brett Says:

I’m We Are Not Werthy in the Germantown League.

  19. sean Says:

I’m in mayfair. Its destiny this year for the Camden Piels.

  20. Dennis Says:

    Kensington League!

maybe my name should be Missing Teeth!!!

  21. Phil Says:

i think im going to bring my laptop to school and sit in the study area to do the draft! lol

  22. Phan in TN Says:

I still have never done fantasy baseball since I depend on my looks to get me through life.

btw..I’m from Juniata Park (Feltonville) originally before the neighborhood became Dominican etc

  23. Brian Michael Says:

Sorry about South Philly. If you want to see more neighborhoods represented, get more people to sign up.

  24. Manny Says:

I’m playing in Chalfont. Fear my team, Pat the Glove.

  25. Jason B. Says:

Brian… I understand.. The autodraft will be rocked!

  26. Mike W. Says:

Where’s the main line shout out? come on.

  27. Richie Says:

    It’s cool Bri, it’s cool.

  28. MikeMc26 Says:

Fitting that I used to go to LaSalle and got put into the Olney league. I’ve since transferred out to Montana State to finish up school so that’s gonna make it tough for me to draft live. How did you guys say you could auto draft a team again? Thanks in advance gang…

  29. MikeMc26 Says:

Oh yea…. Let’s Go Bowa Constrictors!!!!!!

  30. none32 Says:

Chalfont is a playground. Its called east torresdale

  31. Phil Says:

Out of curiosity, are you all going to skip on Mets players because they play for the Mets? I’ll gladly snag up David Wright, Jose Reyes, Johann Santana, and Carlos Beltran in rounds 1-4.

  32. Phil Says:

Also, the thing that annoys me is that North East and Manayunk are like the suburbs. Why are they so greatly represented?

  33. Matt Says:

    MikeMc26,

Just go to Draft Central and click on Edit Prerankings or whatever. Then, just drag and drop the players in whatever order you want. Make sure to click “save” when you’re done or you lose them. If you’re not in the live draft, it’ll automatically autodraft for you based on your rankings.

  34. MikeMc26 Says:

    Thanks Matt
