Contestant 4 – Cathy

Phillies FanI have been a fan my whole life. The first picture is me in first grade when we won the World Series. I was such a Phanatic the principal let me come to school in my gear and give out red candy to the whole school. Currently I teach Kindergarten at St. Luke’s and I turn every class into fans. We talk about never giving up like Chris Coste and to always believe like Tug. Every day I wear a Tug McGraw baseball bracelet on one wrist and a rosary bracelet on the other. I tell people I like to represent both of my religions.

My dream in life became a reality this summer when I won the auction at the Phillies Phestival and got to dance on the dugout with Phanatic. That picture is also enclosed. My Dad is also a huge Phillies fan and gave me the set of glasses he got when the opened Veteran’s Stadium. I’ve been waiting for the World Series to drink out of them. I’m so excited.

Above my fireplace in my living room is a picture of Richie Ashburn. Although I never saw him play I loved him as an announcer and went to Cooperstown to watch him be inducted into the Hall of Fame. What a great experience.

I have worked with this dear woman’s husband for over 8 years now, and can personally attest to the many games he has attended in all kinds of weather, all over the country, good, bad, and awful. I sincerely hope she is properly awarded the title of “greatest fan”, and would recommend my colleague for the award “most devoted husband”. Go Cathy!

    Cathy,

Not that this has anything to do with your entry, but did you happen to attend Most Holy Redeemer Roman Catholic School in Westville Grove, NJ? I wore those EXACT uniforms when I went and was shocked to see them in your entry! LOL!

    Chris

My vote goes to Cathy. We worked together for only a short time, but during that time I got the chance to express my love for the Phillies and share my love for the game with someone who truly understood the “Phillie Nation” We had a great time, and so did the kids! Go Cathy!
